Peter is an accomplished Business Development, Partnerships, and Advocacy Professional in Health, with over 15 years of cumulative experience and expertise in developing business development and partnership strategies, engineering turnarounds for under-performing organizations, and applying strategic communication and advocacy strategies for greater effectiveness and social impact.
He is an expert in building strategic partnerships across Africa with Governments, Bilateral and Multilateral Institutions, The Private Sector, and Foundations to generate new financial resources to support accelerating the achievement of the SDGs. He attributes his accomplishments to the efficiency and effectiveness of the private sector and the softness and the doing-good of the humanitarian and not-for-profit sectors. He has demonstrated sound experience and leadership in target delivery, relationship building, venture/ social enterprise development, administration leadership and governance, programme and project Management, and policy and practice change.
Peter has vast experience working across multi-specialty and diverse teams and departments to deliver the highest quality of work at world-class standards while effectively supervising and motivating performance that exceeds expectations.
Peter is currently the Communications and Advocacy Technical Advisor with the Coalition for Health Research and Development (CHReaD) – a regional Health R&D advocacy platform comprising the private sector, academia, research institutions, and other CSOs. His mandate is to grow the coalition to be the go-to regional advocacy vehicle in advocating for sustainable access to quality and efficacious health products and technologies through strategic partnerships, thought leadership, and resource mobilization.
Peter holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Management from Strathmore Business School, a BSc degree in Biochemistry from Egerton University, and a host of other professional and leadership qualifications. Peter is an alumnus of the INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship Programme – a global leadership program for developing sustainable social ventures/enterprises.
